The Parkapiki Website is a Social Media Platform that encourages people to explore local parks and open spaces with the ensentive of winning prizes.

Parkapiki originated as an ambitious application in the D3 Challenge, in which the Department of Premier and Cabinet, Office for the Ageing and the Department of Environment, Water and Natural Resources sought solutions from the public to support active and healthy ageing. The business is entirely based through online interactions between members, called 'ParkPals'. ParkPals can communicate with one another and learn more about Parks and Open Places within their area, whilst making like-minded friends.

Parkapiki in partner with the D3 project required a social media based website that drove users into parks and open places.

JABA developed a heavily customised website for Parkapiki to showcase the natural beauty of the outdoors. By utilising the Parkapiki search engine, users can discover the parks and outdoor places within their area and filter these park listings by their features and facilities. Users can also find people and groups to make new friends or reignite existing friendships. The range of functionality includes the ability to search the website based on favourite activities to do in parks and outdoor places to further narrow down their optimal experience. All the content in Parkapiki is created by their community through Park Pages which can range from reserves, playgrounds, community spaces, beaches, walks, and bike trails. Users also contribute to the website through social media posts to communicate and interact. The website includes a competition function which allows users to entered a certain fenced zone with the device of their choosing and submit a competition application to win prizes.
