This was a special project for JABA when we built the website back in 2012 because it was a pioneer new style of website for regional tourism. This site featured spectacular responsive design and was one of the first to use our CMS v4 which was specifically developed for mobile responsive websites.
Upgrading to the CMS v5 and utilising the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse (ATDW) booking engine using V3 technology, the Destination Riverland's upgraded website incorporated a modern look and feel through advanced tile navigation that incorporates in page meta data for search enhine optimisation. The tile system enables exceptional user navigation and bold and impacting web font to increase their viewer retention.
A droneshoot was also required to ecapsulate the vast beauty and size of the Riverland. A video is displayed as a main masthead for the website home page to give visitors an initial impression of the region. The visual journey through the Riverland remains a key feature that distinguishes the Riverland as a tranquil and beautiful tourist destination.
Destination Riverland is the peak regional tourism body in the Riverland of South Australia. Destination Riverland was established in October 2011 and immediately set about developing a 3 year Strategic Plan to grow tourism and boost the economy by increasing visitor numbers to the great river tourism region. The vision for Riverland tourism is — “Confidence in tourism investment and excellence in tourism operations.”
The Riverland boasts some of the best fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, unique beers and ciders, plus unique cellar door, brewery and distillery experiences. With unique cellar doors, breweries and distilleries, the Riverland has all of the award winning roadside stands. Boutique wineries, distinctive distilieries, local produce and unique restaurants help create a Riverland taste experience which is bountiful and diverse.
