Drovers Way | Self-Guided Trail PWA
JABA proudly partnered with Drovers Way to create a powerful Progressive Web App that invites visitors to embark on a self-guided journey through the Light Region, just 60km outside of Adelaide.
Project Snapshot
- Client: Drovers Way
- Industry: Regional Tourism
- Location: Light Region, South Australia (60km from Adelaide)
- Services Delivered: PWA Development, Branding, Copywriting, Photography
- Platform: JABA CMSv7
- Standout Feature: Trip Planner with three interactive, GPS-enabled driving routes
The Problem
A self-guided driving trail lives or dies on how easy it is to plan and follow. Drovers Way needed a way to turn the Light Region's rich heritage, its founding history and pioneering towns, into something visitors could actually navigate in person, with real trip planning and mapping, rather than a static page describing the trail from a distance.
What JABA Built
The website features advanced integration with ATDW content, providing seamless access to Trip Planning tools, interactive Google Maps, and detailed historical information for travellers to immerse themselves in the region's rich heritage. JABA's advanced CMSv7 system powers the website's backend, offering customised functions that make it simple for the Drovers Way team to create and manage engaging content, ensuring visitors always have access to the latest information on events, attractions, and local experiences.
What Was Technically Interesting
The platform includes interactive Google Maps guiding travellers along three specially curated routes of the Drovers Way trail, each highlighting charming towns, historic sites, and local produce stops, with GPS-enabled navigation so visitors can explore at their own pace. The Trip Planner, fully integrated with the Australian Tourism Data Warehouse, allows users to easily create personalised itineraries, making the Drovers Way Driving Trail more accessible and enjoyable for every visitor.
Business Outcome
JABA's PWA for Drovers Way is more than just a website, it's a tool for exploration and discovery. With the Trip Planner, interactive maps, and detailed historical insights, visitors can immerse themselves in the stories of the Light Region while enjoying a scenic and engaging self-guided adventure, turning a heritage trail into something genuinely easy to plan and follow.
