The VS Sassoon PWA was a major project for JABA in 2020. It began in January working with the team from Conair Australia (based in Sydney) to produce a state-of-the-art new website for both users and administrators.

The Problem

As an international beauty brand with a large and constantly growing product range, VS Sassoon needed a platform that could handle far more than a standard online shop. Conair Australia needed a website capable of managing a very large database of existing products, supporting how-to content for each, and integrating trusted review data, all while giving both customers and internal administrators a smooth, state-of-the-art experience.

 

What JABA Built

Beginning in January 2020, JABA worked closely with the team from Conair Australia to produce a state-of-the-art new Progressive Web App for both users and administrators. The new PWA features a customised back-end editor used to add new products and manage a very large database of existing products, giving the Conair team full control without relying on JABA for routine updates.

Supporting the large product range are many "how-to" videos with customised controls, helping customers get the most out of each product after purchase. Each product is also integrated with the international Bazaar Voice review system, bringing trusted customer reviews directly onto the VS Sassoon site.

 

What Was Technically Interesting

Special "splash" pages were built to feature new or elite products, designed primarily for social media integration and digital marketing campaigns. Rather than a one-off build, JABA provides ongoing services to produce these splash pages, giving Conair a fast, repeatable way to launch new product releases into market with dedicated, campaign-ready landing pages.

 

Business Outcome

The VS Sassoon PWA has remained an active, evolving platform since its 2020 launch, with JABA continuing to produce new splash pages and support product releases into 2024 and beyond. The ongoing nature of the relationship, now spanning several years of continuous development, reflects the platform's success in supporting Conair Australia's product marketing and online sales for VS Sassoon.
