Who Stole My IP?
Who Stole My IP? is a political lobbying campaign designed to bring justice to Justin Daley, an Adelaide entrepreneur who has been wronged in a serious copyright breach by a major game development company.
This case involves Mighty Kingdom, a publicly-listed company that falsely claimed total control over Justin’s intellectual property (IP) for his mobile game Kitty Keeper, and took advantage of a $480k State Government grant meant for the game's development.
The Story Behind the Fight
Justin contracted Mighty Kingdom to develop his concept for Kitty Keeper as a mobile game. The company, which boasts collaborations with Disney, LEGO, Sony, and Snapchat, applied for and received a $480k grant, all while falsely claiming full control of the game’s IP.
What Went Wrong?: Mighty Kingdom published Justin’s game without permission, failed to honour their commitments, misled him, and terminated the agreement one year into a three-year term. The purpose of the grant was ignored, and the company kept the funds while delivering almost nothing.
Attempts to Seek Justice: Despite multiple attempts by Justin and support from Hon Tammy Franks MLC, Hon Dennis Hood MLC, and Hon Frank Pangallo MLC to have the matter pursued by the government and police, there has been no action. This leaves legal action as the best path forward for Justin to regain control of his IP and expose this injustice.
See You in Court
Justin is taking legal action as the legitimate holder of the Kitty Keeper IP, fighting not just for himself but for South Australian taxpayers, who have been let down by a potentially fraudulent misuse of public funds. This legal battle is an opportunity to expose corporate exploitation and set a precedent for ethical treatment in the Australian business landscape.
Help Support the Fight for Truth and Justice
Taking on a powerful corporation in court is a costly endeavour. But Justin is determined to pursue truth, justice, and the Australian way. To support this fight, a Crowd Funding campaign has been established to help cover the legal costs involved in recovering what is rightfully his – ownership of his game idea and the return of the $480k taxpayer grant.
